In a genuinely intriguing statement yesterday, EA unveiled its plans to launch its premier workout brand (famous on the Wii) to 'other platforms'.

Purely speculation here, but could this be the 360's answer to Wii fit? With Natal motion detection and EA providing the software, this is shaping up to be very interesting indeed.

Statement reads:

“We’re taking EA Sports Active, which was wildly successful in the Wii, and bringing that to multiple platforms”

Expect a launch in Q3 of 2011 where 2 titles in the range are scheduled for release.
